Wrath Surrounds Steinbeck's NYC Apartment

John Steinbeck, author of the classic 1939 novel, Grapes of Wrath, established a place for himself in American literary tradition. (Remember his book from high school English class?) At the end of his life Steinbeck established a literal place of residence in an apartment in New York City's Upper East Side. He lived at 190 East 72nd St. near Third Avenue with views from his writing study of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building.

Now, the fate of Steinbeck's apartment faces in-family, well, wrath suitable for a novel.
