A Sip of Real Lemonade

Though there are many things in life worth taking a shortcut with, lemonade is not one of them. You may have forgotten (or - gasp! - never known) the joy of a fresh glass of the real stuff, but you'll kick the powder habit for good once you're reminded.
Don't get me wrong: like many suburban kids of the 1970's, I was raised on a steady diet of Kool-Aid and Country Time - but I've dabbled in fresh-squeezed as an adult. Teresa of the Rex & Regina blog was kind enough to remind me of how worthwhile a little bit of a calorie splurge can be when it's spent on real sugar. She rounded up a few recipes to quench your thirst for the good stuff:

Patrick O'Connell's Classic Lemonade Recipe
Tyler Florence's Champagne Lemonade
Rosemary Lemonade

I may have spent my formative years sporting a powdered-pink-lemonade mustache, but I plan to spend the rest of this summer sipping on a tall, cool glass of the real thing. Likely with champagne.

For another summer great drink idea, read about Party Girl's refreshing delicious Boozy Granitas.
