FarmVille Looks to Expand Beyond Facebook

Recently, we were shocked to learn that Facebook game FarmVille is 11 million players strong after a few weeks of existence. So it's no surprise to learn that publisher Zynga is planning on releasing the farming game on other platforms outside of Facebook.

There are no details on which platforms yet -- Zynga also has games for MySpace, Hi5 (a popular social network in South America) and iPhone -- though a company rep just told us that FarmVille on iPhone "won't be coming out any time soon." And we were so looking forward to harvesting crops in the palms of our hands.
