When the President recently signed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009, two million acres were added to existing parks and wilderness areas in nine states, and 1,000 miles of rivers came under protection. The U.S. has always led the way in preserving public land, and many of our parks are world-renownedsYellowstone, Yosemite, Glacier, Zionsbut in this prime season for park-visiting, it seems only fitting to honor some of the lesser-known, more lightly-visited parks, each with something unforgettable to offer.
