Generators from Home Depot and Sam's Club recalled over fire risk

Updated

More than 50,000 generators sold at Home Depot and Sam's Club are being recalled because they can leak fuel and catch fire, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The Chinese-made generators were sold between July 2008 and May under the Homelite, Husky and Black Max brand names for between $480 and $1,600.

The CPSC urges owners of the generators to stop using them immediately because, "The fuel gauge can leak excessive amounts of gasoline."

For more information for consumers with Homelite or Husky brand generators, contact Homelite Consumer Products, Inc. at (800) 242-4672 weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time or go to its Web site.
