Nickelodeon goes arcade retro with new logo
Splat! This could be the unstated Batman-style zinger I saw every time the Nickelodeon logo appeared on the TV. Even its more adult-focused brand, Nick at Nite, had the splat outline. Reminiscent of the old days when its game show Double Dare made sticky, frequent use of the iconic green slime (first introduced as part of the Canadian hit You Can't Do That on Television), the Nickelodeon splat was old. Super old. As Cyma Zarghami, president of Nick and MTV Networks' Kids and Family Group, told Variety, "In asking ourselves if everything could live under the splat, we decided that the splat was dated," she said.
