Get vaccinated the Wal-Mart way

Updated

Wal-Mart is in talks with the federal government to use its stores as vaccination sites against the H1N1 virus. Jokes aside about rolling back prices, this makes so much sense, it's difficult to believe it could actually happen.

I've seen flu vaccination sites in some of the darndest places including airports and office lobbies. I've gotten seasonal flu vaccinations at my former place of business, an alderman's office and once, a cocktail party hosted by Walgreens to open a new clinic.

Mass market retailers, particularly those with a pharmacy, are pretty common places for consumers to go for vaccinations. So why is Wal-Mart's possible involvement in providing H1N1 vaccinations a big deal?
