Apple will patch iPhone security hole

Apple (AAPL) will issue a software patch for its iPhone as early as Saturday.

British network operator 02 told BBC News that the software patch would be available Saturday through iTunes. Calls to Apple's press relations team from DailyFinance to confirm the release of the patch were not immediately returned.

The potential hack into cell phones could effect Apple's iPhones as well as phones using Windows Mobile and the Google (GOOG) Android operating system.
