Recession dressin' with Holly Getty: At home spa treatments
Walletpop's fashion affordability expert Holly Getty, a personal stylist in New York, gives you the step-by-step to spa bliss:
"Treating yourself at home is a very easy way to treat yourself when the moment calls. We all should have an "at home spa plan" at the ready for when you are in need of pampering or for your "staycation" this Summer.
"Here is a shopping list of the DIY spa must-haves: plain yogurt, spray olive oil, epsom salt, lavender oil, a big tub of body moisturizer, ice, candles and your favorite tunes.
"On dry hair, lightly spray olive oil on your hair, covering the ends. Add a shower cap for extra moisturizing points.
"On a clean face, generously lavish the plain yogurt on your skin. Leave as a mask.
"Fill the tub with hot water, epsom salt and a few drops of lavender oil. Light the candles and start the tunes. Soak for as long as you like.
"Apply shampoo on your hair before you add water, and gently wash out the olive oil. Rinse off your yogurt facial and, post bath, wrap some ice in a washcloth and hold to your clean face.
"Go crazy with the tub of moisturizer and treat your feet, elbows, knees and legs.
"With your last remaining bits of energy, sprinkle a few drops of lavender oil onto your pillow and enter the deepest, most relaxing sleep.
"No tipping required and I guarantee you will wake up prettier and more rested than you were the day before. Enjoy!"
