Nestlé Toll House Cooke Dough recalled for E. Coli
Nestlé USA Baking Division has issued a recall of its Toll House brand refrigerated cookie dough products. This was in response to notification that the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control are investigating a report of E.coli 0157:H7 illnesses that could be related to eating this raw cookie dough. This E.coli can cause abdominal cramping, vomiting and bloody diarrhea. Young children and the elderly can also suffer kidney damage from this infection.
Apparently, an unknown number of consumers have reported getting sick after eating the cookie dough. The company has not found any of the bacteria in its products, but is proceeding with the recall while waiting for test results. So should you
