Sprint stores running low on the Palm Pre

A 24/7 Wall Street nationwide sampling of Sprint (S) retail outlets show that many of them sold out their supply of Palm (PALM) Pre's.

There has been a great deal of attention paid to whether the Apple (AAPL) "iPhone killer" would do well. Sprint, the troubled No.3 wireless carrier in the US, needs a product success to show it can reverse the slide in its subscribers. Palm's fortune rest almost entirely on substantial sales of the Pre.
