Stocks set for a lower start on concerns over the economy

U.S. stocks were set for a lower start Thursday, following Wednesday's sharp selloff triggered by concerns over consumer spending. The same concerns did not abate this morning, as investors realize the economy may not see the quick recovery they had hoped for. Earnings from retailers and economic data is also in focus this morning.
