Even Paris Hilton can't shop America out of this recession

The media, WalletPop included, have a bit of an obsession with Paris Hilton. We admit it. So it's no surprise that we were interested in learning just how much the media darling takes home each year.

Thanks to a lawsuit, which claims -- tsk tsk -- that Ms. Hilton didn't fulfill her duties as an executive producer, we now know that she pulled in a respectable $22 million during 2006 and 2007, from various business activities and public appearances.

Even if Paris' finances suffer the same 10% cut as her television show, it's safe to say that Paris' continued exploitation of herself and the media's obsession with her will continue to provide her with enough disposable income to make good on her recent promise to save the economy, one shopping trip at a time.
