Another recession toy: Obama family paper dolls

Updated

The quest for souvenirs from President Barack Obama's administration just got a little easier on the wallet, with $7.99 paper dolls of the president and his family.

If you already have the Obama campaign edition paper dolls, then the inaugural edition is an inexpensive toy to followup with. For a toy that the kids can dress again and again, it's a pretty inexpensive toy during a recession.

The president looks fashionable enough, but his wife, Michelle Obama, is the star of the new book, which was released last month.

Among the six outfits included for Michelle are the J. Crew cardigan, Italian Deco tank top and sheath skirt outfit she wore on her Oct. 27, 2008 appearance on "The Tonight Show," the black-on-red Thakoon dress she wore to the Democratic National Convention acceptance speech, her Jason Wu-designed silk chiffon inaugural ball gown, and the sunshine-yellow Isabel Toledo dress and Jimmy Choo shoes she wore to the inauguration.

The most stunning is the red-and-black satin Narciso Rodriguez dress and Loree Rodkin diamond bangle bracelets and earrings she was wearing on election night in Chicago.

For Republicans, there are still John McCain paper dolls for sale that aren't moving too fast.
