Former 'Hollywood Madam' Heidi Fleiss turns to alternative energy (really!)

Updated

Heidi Fleiss has shelved her plans to open up a brothel for women and has turned her sight to the world of alternative energy. However, the green world is not exactly rolling out the carpet for the ex-Hollywood madam, which is a pity.

Fleiss, who grabbed headlines in the 1990s after being arrested for running a high-class prostitution services, is coy about her plans . According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, she's discarded the idea of opening a wind farm as being too expensive. The American Wind Energy Association, whose mission is "to promote wind power growth through advocacy, communication, and education," declined to offer comment. Other environmental groups also declined to comment on Fleiss' budding activism.

There seems to be strong interest in wind power in Nevada. Wind Power Nevada argues that, "Nevada has wind resources consistent with utility-scale production." It also highlights a government report which estimates that 20 percent of the nation's energy supply could come from wind by 2030.
