The end of America in 2010: Media hype or real possibility?
Panarin says that after the split occurs, California will be the base of a group of states under China's rule. Texas will be the base of a group of states under the control of Mexico. Canada will rule a group of northern Midwest states, and the European Union will control a group of east coast states.
So does a prediction of the implosion of our country come as any surprise to you? I don't believe it will happen, but I'm not shocked that someone is predicting it. I've always said that the quickest way to get people to believe something is to say it over and over. By repeating this silly "prediction" numerous times, Panarin is planting seeds in the minds of many.
Russian leaders are more than happy to hear this prediction, as a breakup of the United States would surely mean more world power for Russia. Panarin predicts the civil war will start in the fall of 2009. Don't get too excited, though. I still think Americans aren't motivated enough to get that involved in creating change in our country. And if they do get more motivated, I highly doubt that a civil war will be the response. There are many avenues through which citizens can try to effect change in the United States, and civil war is simply an option that falls far down the list.
