FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Add this to the list of problems created by the mortgage crisis: more mosquitoes.
Health officials in the Washington area say foreclosed homes are becoming breeding grounds for the insects.
Mike Cantwell, of the Maryland Department of Agriculture, predicts the problem will get worse this summer as pools, bird baths, wheel barrows and flower pots at vacant properties fill up with water.
