Domain's going out of business sale just got better

Updated

Domain, Inc.,

an East coast furniture chain which is going out of business, has reduced its prices even further. According to an email publicizing the sale, everything is 30% to 50% off. The announcement goes on to say that the upscale furniture, rugs and home accessories company is cleaning out its warehouse and new merchandise is arriving daily. Obviously, all sales are final.

I called my local store in Stamford, CT to see what inventory was like. Sounds like it's slim pickings and not for long-they are closing on Monday. The saleswoman seemed frazzled and mentioned that she was the only one working at that location. I realized that this is a get-there-as-quickly-as-you-can kind of sale if you're in the market for home furnishings, but there will likely be some really good deals.

I read on Business Wire that Domain, Inc. filed Chapter 11 on January 18 in Delaware. The company began its liquidation sale in February. Its 27 stores, in CT, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA AND VA, will close once the sale is over.
