Here is a Lexington list and guide of the best weekend events around Central Kentucky on Friday, Saturday and Sunday if you are bored and need things to do from live music concerts and festivals featuring games, rides and food, comedy shows, local concert series, theatre plays, art exhibits, 5K runs and foodie events such as wine tastings and a Mimosa Fest.

Owingsville Lions Club Fair

The Owingsville Lions Club Fair is underway in Bath County, less than an hour drive from Lexington. There will be a demolition derby, mud sling, games, food and rides. ‘Tacos N’ Tequila’ for Bluegrass Greensource at Harper Hall

Learn more about Bluegrass Greensource during their annual “Tacos N’ Tequila” fundraising event on Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. at Harper Hall. CASA Superhero Run at WinStar Farm

The annual CASA Superhero Run will be Aug. 27 at WinStar Farm, the private Thoroughbred farm that produced Triple Crown winner Justify. The 1K fun run for kids 12 and under begins at 8:30 a.m. The 5K run begins at 9 a.m. Registration available the day of the race. Voices of Hope Overdose Awareness Day
