If you’re looking for something, Walmart probably has it. The big-box store has over 32,000 products in its curtain section alone—leaving you with plenty of options to sift through.
Walmart’s curtain selection is impressive. The store sells thousands of blackout, thermal, and outdoor curtains, as well as hundreds of noise-reducing curtains. And it offers a range of curtains for non-standard windows, too. Walmart sells thousands of valances and window tier curtains that are perfect for shorter windows. And you can even find curtains designed for window-lined doors, like French doors or sliding glass doors.
With that much range, it’s likely that Walmart has everything you’re looking for. But it does take some digging to find it. Since Walmart’s curtain selection is so big, it’s separated into different categories. And you have to pick a filter—narrowing by color, curtain type, light control, or the room you’re shopping for—before you can see any of the curtains on offer. We don’t love this set-up: What if you don’t know what you’re looking for right off the bat? And we found our other favorite big-box stores much easier to navigate.

The brand’s sleekest grid-check curtains are lined with tassels. Its classic floral curtains are packed with playful color. And its simple white cotton curtains are textured with embroidery.

How much should you expect to spend on curtains?
Curtain prices range from retailer to retailer.Based on our research, you should expect to spend between $25 and $350 on a non-custom curtain panel. And if you’re going custom, you should expect prices to start between $120 and $730—and increase from there. “Custom curtains can get costly quickly, depending on the fabric, the size of your windows, etc.,” says Christopher.
How long should curtains be?
Christopher and Conner agree: Your curtains should hover just above your floor. “They should fall 1/4-inch off the floor,” says Conner. “Hang the hardware about 6-8 inches above the top of the window trim to lengthen the size of the room.” So measure the height of your window, and add 6-8 inches—depending on how high you plan to hang your curtains. The number you get is about how long your curtains should be.
What is the difference between curtains and drapes?
Curtains and drapes are similar—but they’re not exactly the same thing.
