It may not be the strongest quarterback draft class this year, but that won’t be stopping at least two teams from going definitely going in that direction Round 1.

According to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, “Right now, it looks like a sure bet the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers take a signal-caller in the first round.” Adding, “Word is there’s a very real possibility the Seattle Seahawks move into the back end of Round 1 and grab their quarterback of the future.”

Both teams aren’t too far removed from future Hall of Fame quarterbacks retiring.

After 18 seasons in Pittsburgh “Big” Ben Roethlisberger called it a career this past season. While Drew Brees made his retirement official back in June of 2021.

The Saints at least have a capable starter after re-signing Jameis Winston. The former first overall pick played well in New Orleans last season, but an ACL injury cut that short.

Meanwhile, the Steelers are very much in the need for a quarterback. Especially after the tragic passing of Dwayne Haskins. The team signed Mitchell Trubisky as a stop-gap, with Mason Rudolph as the backup.

But, Pittsburgh has been linked to both Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis throughout the draft process.
