2 more doctors, nurse practitioner now practicing in the Tri-Cities area

Two new doctors and a nurse practitioner have moved to the Tri-Cities and Prosser areas and are now offering care.

Lourdes Occupational Health

Dr. Carolyn O’Connor joined Lourdes Occupational Health this month.

O’Connor will see patients for preplacement and job offer physicals; diagnosis and treatment of work-related injuries; respiratory protection programs; hearing conservation programs; medical surveillance; fitness for duty and more.

She comes to Lourdes from Prosser Memorial Health Family Practice Clinic, where she worked as a family medicine physician since 2017.

Previously, she practiced with Adventist Health Medical Center in Walla Walla and Klickitat Health Services in Goldendale, Wash.

O’Connor completed medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1994. She is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Practice.

Lourdes Rheumatology

Tara Zamarron has accepted a position as an advanced registered nurse practitioner at Lourdes Rheumatology in Pasco, where she will work with Dr. Sudeep Thapa.

“Tara’s experience is well-rounded, and she is going to be a great addition for our team, patients and community,” Taylor said.

She has been in the nursing field for more than 20 years and has experience with assessing, evaluating and treating both acutely and chronically ill patients.

She practiced with Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake as a family nurse practitioner since 2016 and a registered nurse for three years before that.

She also worked as a nursing coach and development coordinator with Columbia Basin Health Association in Othello, updating procedures for nursing care and developing training. From 2008-’10, she was an emergency room registered nurse at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in the Tri-Cities.

She earned her Masters of Nursing with High Honors from Simmons University in Boston, Mass.

Prosser Memorial Health

Dr. James Wallace has joined Prosser Memorial Health as a full-time emergency physician.

He has worked in emergency medicine for 30 years and is certified in advanced cardiac, advanced trauma and pediatric advanced life support, as well as a certification from the American Board of Family Medicine.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and his medical degree from the University Texas Southwestern.

A Washington native, he returned to the state to complete an internship and residency with the University of Washington in Seattle and then built his professional career in Port Angeles, Wash.

He is fluent in Spanish.
