Two southbound lanes of Interstate 65 just past the Jefferson Street exit are closed "until further notice" for roadway repairs Wednesday afternoon, according to an alert issued by Louisville Metro Emergency Services.

Crews are working to fix a pothole in the "Hospital Curve" area of I-65 South, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said in a statement. Repairs are expected to be complete sometime Wednesday, a spokesperson added.

The road work, first reported at 11:18 a.m. is estimated to be completed in six hours, according to TRIMARC.

Only one lane of I-65 South is open while crews make repairs, according to Metro EMS.

"Motorists may seek an alternate route or expect potential travel delays during the afternoon commute," KYTC said in its statement. "Please slow down and watch for workers when traveling through the mobile work zone."
