Hey, Bud! You wrote about the best steaks. Didn’t you forget Lonesome Dove?

—Downtown reader

Yes and yes. In answering a question about Grace and Don Artemio steakhouses, I forgot to say that the two very best steaks in Fort Worth are traditionally chef Jon Bonnell’s bison filet in whiskey-cream sauce at Bonnell’s, 4259 Bryant Irvin Road near Interstate 20, and chef Tim Love’s garlic-stuffed tenderloin at Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, 2406 N. Main St. in the Stockyards.

Take note: Lonesome Dove also opens for lunch Fridays and Saturdays.

Piccolo Mondo in Arlington has a piano bar

Hey, Bud! You wrote about restaurants with a piano bar. Didn’t you forget Piccolo Mondo?

—Arlington reader

Yes, and I’m embarrassed. Piccolo Mondo, 829 E. Lamar Blvd. off Interstate 30 in Arlington, is a fine-dining Italian restaurant that draws customers from across Tarrant and western Dallas County for old-world atmosphere and flavor. It is the best place to meet Dallas friends halfway for weekday lunch or dinner any night.

Busy B’s closing on circle, open in Burleson

Hey, Bud! Did you hear the Busy B’s Bakery on Benbrook Traffic Circle is closing?

—Even more west side readers

This is farewell weekend for the west Fort Worth location of Busy B’s Bakery, a kolache bakery founded by the Bearden family from the long-gone east side Kolache Shoppe.

Owners Mary and Mark Tuff are giving up the daily grind after eight years and closing the retail shop, 3701 Southwest Blvd. They’ll bake custom orders instead.

A different owner continues at a Burleson location, 251 SW Wilshire Blvd.
