An 18-year-old Two Rivers man drove into the back of a school bus filled with 30 students from the Kewaunee School District on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department said in a statement that none of the occupants on the bus needed to be hospitalized but some students reported minor injuries. The 18-year-old was transported to a hospital.

The agency said the incident happened about 3:20 p.m. as the bus stopped at a residence on State Highway 42 south of Townline Road in Carlton.

The crash closed the highway for about three hours, according to the sheriff's department.

The sheriff's department is investigating and being assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
