The 15 Best Kitchen Finds At HomeGoods

HomeGoods arrives in my area in May 2022, and from the first time I stepped inside, I knew I could get into a lot of trouble.

Since then, it's become a bit of a problem. I find myself wandering the aisles for things I don't even know I need until I stumble across them and find new things to love on every shopping trip. Here are my top 15 HomeGoods kitchen finds I always fill my cart with.

What is HomeGoods?

Founded in 1992, HomeGoods is a chain of home furnishing stores. What began as a small chain of stores has grown to hundreds of locations across the United States.

Owned by TJX Companies, it's the sister store of TJ Maxx, Sierra Trading Post and Marshalls. The size of each store varies, but they all carry furniture, cooking products, linens and other home accessories.

What is HomeGoods known for?

Of course HomeGoods is known for being the go-to place for almost anything you need for your home, but why the cult-like following?

Loyal shoppers love the discount prices on name-brand items, one-of-a-kind products from around the globe and the quality of the merchandise. For example, you can usually find at least one Le Creuset piece on the shelves, at a significantly lower price than anywhere else. (Keep reading to see what I mean!)

When is the best day to shop at HomeGoods?

Unlike other stores, there isn't one day to plan a shopping trip to HomeGoods. However, it is well known among us HG super fans that the stores seem to be less busy midday on Tuesday through Friday, and employees are putting new merchandise out. I can personally attest to this fact, and while I am willing to pop in any time, if I'm planning a HomeGoods run I shoot for that window.

The specific merchandise at HomeGoods changes frequently, and the hunt is part of the fun! That said, there are broader categories of kitchen items that they consistently carry, which is what I've covered here. Get ready to take a deep dive into HomeGoods kitchen heaven!

1. Skillets

There are so many things you can do with a great skillet. No matter what size or style you're looking for, HomeGoods has you covered, with high-quality brands at an affordable price. You will be mastering feta fried eggs, perfecting your pancakes and browning meat in no time with one of these!

2. Oils

HomeGoods usually has an array of oils: standard olive oil, flavored oils, finishing oils and even oil spray. Maybe you have a recipe that is calling for a specific oil you can't find, or perhaps you need a great spray to use with that new air fryer. HomeGoods can help with all of it!

3. Kitchen Linens

When was the last time you saw a store selling aprons? Yep, HomeGoods has them! They might not be as popular as when our grandmas were in the kitchen, but they make great bridal shower or housewarming gifts. 6. Refrigerator Organization

I am the girl obsessed with watching those "restock" videos in my social media feed. Using clear bins to organize everything in your fridge is all the rage right now, so I was excited to see I could get all the ones I wanted in one one-stop shop.

7. Pasta

This HomeGoods section helps you think outside the (pasta) box. They have an assortment of different flavors and colors and many specialty pastas imported from Italy. Pick up a bag (or four) to take your next pot of pasta to the next level. I also love picking up seasonal shapes and colors for fun family meals.

8. Bakeware

With fall's arrival, and winter just around the corner, it's prime time for casseroles of all kinds and almost holiday dessert season. Cook all of those sweet and savory things in beautiful, functional baking dishes that you can find at HomeGoods, including favorite designs from Le Creuset. This particular day there were even a couple of colors on the clearance shelf.

You can find high-quality storage containers for all of your leftovers and ones to help keep dry goods stocked and organized too. The glass ones with wooden lids are a personal favorite!

10. Jams & Jellies

Put down the boring jar of grape jelly, and upgrade your morning toast with a tasty fig, apple cinnamon or plum jam. This section is also where you'll find pure maple syrup. You can grab some jars for your house and maybe pick up a few things for a gift basket, too. And don't forget that jam is great for more than just breakfast. Pro Tip: Try making homemade salad dressings and marinades with different jellies and jams.

11. Cookware

Every home cook should have a tall stock pot and a heavy Dutch oven. If it can be enameled cast iron, even better! This is another place you can sometimes find fantastic deals on Le Creuset. On this particular day, this white Cuisinart number caught my eye.

The definition of adulting is getting excited about new kitchen sponges and dish soap. This is where I am at in life. No matter how many I have at home, I always throw a couple of sponges in my cart, and the dish soap smells heavenly, plus it comes in a pretty bottle you will feel okay about sitting out, and can easily be refilled!

13. Cutting Boards and Charcuterie Boards

Make your next charcuterie board even more special with a beautiful wooden board. Or make chopping veggies even easier (and safer) with a sturdy wood cutting board. This section's quality always impresses me and has me wondering just how many wooden boards one person can own before it's too many.

Having the correct knife for every task is vital in cooking. Investing in a great chef's knife is one of the first tips I give new home cooks. You can also find a great set of steak knives, kitchen scissors and paring knives as well.

15. Seasonal Treats

HomeGoods is always planning for the next holiday with yummy treats. This hot cocoa and candy display had me drooling, but earlier in the year there was fancy candy corn for Halloween and chocolate bunnies at Easter too.
