13 strikeout TSSAA baseball performance among Nashville area boys athlete of week candidates

There were some huge TSSAA baseball and soccer performances from Nashville area athletes last week.

You can vote for the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries boys athlete of the week below. Nominees are from all classes in competition from April 29-May 3.

Voting will close Thursday at noon.

Cooper Johnson, Beech: Johnson allowed only three hits in seven innings and struck out 11 in a 6-1 win over Gallatin.

Parker Frost, Clarksville: Frost was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in a 15-5 win over Northeast. He was also 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs in a 7-4 win over Rossview.

Davis Williams, Franklin: Williams pitched 6.2 innings allowing only one hit and striking out nine in a 2-1 loss to Nolensville.

Austin Kilpatrick, Giles County: Kilpatrick was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and three RBIs in a 7-4 loss to Lawrence County.

Jake Truitt, Goodpasture: Truitt surrendered four hits, two runs and struck out 12 in seven innings to earn the win in a 7-2 victory over Nashville Christian.

Casen Springer, Loretto: Springer was 4-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs in an 11-0 win over Lawrence County.

Jarick Reynolds, MTCS: Reynolds had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over Friendship Christian soccer.

Dawson Sweeney, Nolensville: Sweeney pitched nine innings, allowing only three hits and striking out 11 in a 1-0 win over Summit.

Connor Montgomery, Page: Montgomery pitched six innings, allowing only three hits and striking out 13 in a 9-2 win over Independence.

Tucker Mayo, Richland: Mayo was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs in a 14-7 win over Hickman County.

Hunter Goodfred, Springfield: Goodfred was 2-for-2 with a double and five RBIs in an 11-9 loss to Northeast.

Tyler Zeligman, White House Heritage: Zeligman pitched five innings allowing only two hits and striking out 11 in a 12-2 win over Trousdale County.
