13-year-old boy drowns after being swept away in Ontario County creek

A 13-year-old boy drowned after falling into a creek in Ontario County and being swept away by the current, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred on Blodgett Road in the town of Gorham, where the boy was found a short distance downstream in the creek, according to deputies.

The boy was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital, where he died, deputies said.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
