12 West Coast Brands Meghan Markle Relies on for Her California Cool-Girl Style

Meghan Markle's taste in fashion can be summed in two words: California cool. From her signature tonal color palette to her crisp white button downs and very many minimal wardrobe staples, the American royal has become synonymous with that effortless, laidback style often associated with the West Coast. So, it should come as no surprise that she favors a bunch of contemporary brands from California, such as Cuyana, Jenni Kayne, Frank & Eileen, and Bleusalt.

Meghan has long been a devotee of Cuyana, a San Francisco-based sustainable brand known for its "fewer, better" philosophy. She owns several bags and pieces from the brand, including this sculptural silhouette she was most recently seen with during the 2023 Invictus Games.

Relaxed Button-Up Shirt

The Duchess of Sussex loves her white button downs, especially this relaxed, linen number made in California.

The Sleeveless Turtleneck

Meghan has been photographed wearing a number of minimal pieces from this Malibu-based brand, including this camel turtleneck sweater and its matching skirt.

Eleanor Hat

When the sun is blazing, the Duchess of Sussex always turns to the Santa Monica-based designer, Janessa Leone, for her straw hats.

Slip Skirt

Unsurprisingly, Meghan is a Jenni Kayne obsessive, too. Eagle-eyed royal fans spotted her wearing a matching lavender set from the designer in the 2022 Meghan & Harry docu-series. The sweater appears to be sold out, but you can still get your hands on the silk skirt.

Last year in Dusseldorf, Meghan was spotted at dinner looking casual-chic in a Dôen striped button down. The exact piece is no longer available, but the Remis is a very similar option.

For elevated basics, Meghan consistently turns to the L.A.-based womenswear line, Co. While in Canada earlier this year, she stepped out wearing a number of its pieces.

Mason Linen Short

Meghan has long been a fan of sustainable label Reformation, which began in and is headquartered in California. She wore a brown version of these shorts last year, which are currently sold out.
