11-year-old boy killed after accidental shooting in Dallas Walmart parking lot

An 11-year-old boy was fatally shot Sunday after another child found a gun inside a car in a parking lot at a Dallas Walmart.

According to CBS Dallas Fort Worth, police responded to the shooting around 12:40 p.m.

The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died. His identity has not been released.

Dallas police said a 32-year-old women went into the store and left the boy and a 9-year-old boy in her car. Police believe the younger boy found the handgun in the car and then shot the older boy.

Police said no arrests had been made so far but their investigation was ongoing.
