10 Tax Day Freebies and Deals to Look for This Year
It's a Taxing Time
Tax Day is one of the most stressful "holidays" of the year. To help take the sting out of paying Uncle Sam and relieve the anxiety of rushing to file on time, a number of stores and restaurants have offered deals in previous years to mark the tax deadline — Monday, April 15, this year. Some offers are valid only at participating locations, so be sure to contact your local store or restaurant.

1. Great American Cookies
Great American Cookies has been sweetening Tax Day for a few years now. For 2024's Tax Day, the national bake shop is continuing its tradition of treating customers; this year its BOGO cookie cake slices.
2. Southwest Airlines
This year, you can earn 1,000 Rapid Rewards bonus points for Southwest Airlines if you use TurboTax to file your taxes by April 17. Just in time for summer travel.

3. Newegg
If you are waiting until the last minute to start your taxes, Newegg has you covered. The site is currently offering up to 25 percent off tax software.
4. White Castle
This year, White Castle is offering 15 percent off any in-restaurant order for Tax Day. (Online orders use code WC15OFF.) Members of Craver Nation get BOGO combo meals April 14-16.

4. Kona Ice
For years now, Kona Ice has had another name for Tax Day: National Chill Out Day. The shaved-ice-truck franchise is offering a freebie to one and all. Keep an eye on the Kona near you for this year's deal.
6. Hooters
Come Tax Day, Hooters patrons will get a lift in the form of free chicken wings. Customers who buy 10 wings will get an extra 10 wings for free, any style.
7. Sonny's BBQ
This Southern chain is carving a hefty 50% off the price of its St. Louis rib dinners on Monday, April 15. The offer is not valid via online ordering or third-party delivery.
8. TGI Friday's
This popular nationwide chain is offering a hat-tip to Tax Day through April 30 with its $7 drink called The Tax Break, made with 1800 Silver Tequila mixed with citrus, agave, strawberry, and passionfruit.

9. Applebee's
While perhaps not specifically Tax Day related, Applebee's has new rum drinks for spring. This year, customers can try the new $10 Rum Breeze or Tropical Mama bucket or the cheaper Spring Break Sips to wash your tax woes away.
