As warmer weather approaches, so does peak wedding season. A wedding is a beautiful and unforgettable occasion, and with it comes many unique moments. This includes the venue, the decorations and, of course, the wedding dress. Many brides put months or even years of thought into what their perfect dress will look like and despite budgets, many are willing to pay a significant price for their dream gown.

According to a study from The Knot that surveyed 10,000 American couples who got married in 2023, the average price for a wedding dress in 2023 was $2,000 and only 23% of brides who got married that year chose a custom gown. While a couple thousand dollars may sound like a hefty price, some of the most expensive wedding dress price tags go into the millions.

Listed below are the top 10 most expensive wedding dresses of all time.

Madina Shokirova’s

  • $600,000

For her 2016 wedding, Madina Shokirova, daughter of Russian oil tycoon Ilkhom Shokirova, wore a $600,000 wedding dress by Ralph & Russo. This intricate off-the-shoulder gown was decorated with hundreds of pearls and Swarovski crystals.

Victoria Swarovski’s

  • $1 million

As the Swarovski Jewelry heiress, a wedding dress wouldn’t be complete without 500,000 sewn-on Swarovski crystals. This custom-made Michael Cinco gown was accompanied by a 26-foot-long veil and weighed approximately 100 pounds.

Vera Wang Peacock Dress

  • $1.5 million

Designed by Vera Wang for her 2013 spring collection, this dress cost over one million dollars and was decorated with over 2,000 real peacock feathers. A gown that breaks the barriers of a traditional wedding dress, this vibrant and colorful dress is a beautiful option for a bride who wants something completely unique.

Isha Ambani Piramal’s

$12 million

The daughter of Mukesh Ambani, the richest person in India, Isha Ambani Piramal wore a gold lehenga designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for her 2018 wedding to Anand Piramal. Her dress, priced at a cool $12 million, is currently on display Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai.

Priyanka Chopra’s

For her 2018 wedding to Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra wore a $2 million custom Ralph Lauren wedding dress featuring long sleeves and an A-line silhouette. Her gown also included hand-stitched lace detail and 11,000 Swarovski crystals.

Serena Williams’

  • $3.5 million

For her 2017 marriage to Alexis Ohanian, tennis star Serena Williams wore three different wedding dresses including a $3.5 million Alexander McQueen gown designed by Sarah Burton. It was a strapless gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, sequined cape and ballgown silhouette.

Hany El Behairy

  • $5 million

A Hany El Behairy gown worn by Egyptian actress Yousra El Lozy originally made its debut at Behairy’s 2018 spring and summer collection show. This $5 million gown was decorated with 120 carats of diamonds, intricate lace and floral details.

Yumi Katsura White Gold Diamond Dress

  • $8.5 million

Japanese fashion designer Yumi Katsura designed her white gold diamond dress with satin and fine silk as well as a rare 5-carat white gold diamond and over a thousand pearls. An incredibly intricate gown, Katsura only created two of these dresses.

Renee Strauss and Martin Katz Diamond Gown

  • $12 million

This gown, designed by Martin Katz Jewelers and designer Renee Strauss, was created for the 2006 Luxury Brands Lifestyle Bridal Show held at The Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, California. Decorated with 150 carats worth of diamonds, this wedding dress was labelled as the world’s most expensive wedding dress by the 2006 “Guiness Book of World Records.” In 2023, a Michaela Ferriero dress took the Guiness World Record for the most number of crystals on a bridal gown, with over 50,000 Swarovski crystals.

Angelababy’s

  • $31 million total wedding cost

Said to be the most expensive wedding dress in the world, this custom-made Dior wedding gown was worn by Chinese actress, singer and model Angela Yeung — better known as Angelababy. Angelababy wore this strapless gown for her 2015 wedding to Huang Xiaoming. The dress took over five months to make and features 165 feet of tulle, 115 feet of ivory satin organza and approximately 100 hand-cut Chantilly lace rose bouquets and a 10-foot train. The exact price of the dress is unknown, but with a $31 million wedding ceremony, it’s safe to assume Angelababy spared no expense.
