The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that it is continuing work on the $116-million, multiyear overhaul of the busy road at the border near Bucks County and Philadelphia.
Monday and Tuesday's work could produce major delays as crews are set to stop traffic for up to 10 minutes at a time on the road in Bensalem and Middletown, according to PennDOT
Here are the details from a PennDOT news release:
Monday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 10-minute traffic stoppages are planned on eastbound Rockhill Drive between Horizon Boulevard and Mall Boulevard.
Tuesday, April 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, 10-minute traffic stoppages are planned in both directions on Rockhill Drive between Horizon Boulevard and Mall Boulevard.
Tuesday, April 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, a right lane closure is planned on southbound U.S. 1 between Route 413 (Bellevue Avenue) and Rockhill Drive. The alternate date if this work is postponed due to weather is Wednesday, April 3.
"Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent," PennDOT said.
