10 Green Cars to Help Celebrate St. Patrick's Day Lamborghini

Automakers have mixed up some pretty eye-catching colors to spray on their cars, with funky names to accompany them. Army Green is an easy one, but with colors like Jeep's Bikini Metallic, it's up for debate which is more adventurous: the name or the hue? With St. Patrick's Day upon us, we felt the need to celebrate the color of life by highlighting some of the greenest cars on the market. We've also compiled a list of all of the craziest colors available for the 2020 model year. Happy St. Patrick's Day from your favorite car magazine.

Audi RS5 — Sonoma Green Metallic

The RS5 packs a turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 that produces 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque that go to all four corners thanks to Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The RS5 can be had in this brilliant shade, Sonoma Green Metallic, for an extra $595. We think it is absolutely worth it, especially considering that any color but gray carries the same upcharge. And creepers will have to beat a zero-to-60-mph time of 3.5 seconds to get close enough to pinch you.

Mercedes-AMG GT R — Green Hell Magno

Mercedes engineers weren't overstating it when they nicknamed the AMG GT R "The Beast of the Green Hell." The coupe they applied the Nürburgring's nickname to is a hugely capable track animal, lapping the Nordschleife in seven minutes, 10.9 seconds and holding the ninth-fastest time ever at our annual Lightning Lap track romp. It's powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that sends its 577 ponies to the rear wheels. The coolest color on the GT R further honors the Nürburgring: Green Hell Magno. And the cost of this option will turn you green too: $9900. You can find consolation in the fact that the color is only offered on the R variants of the GT.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class — G Manufaktur Olive Metallic

The Mercedes-Benz G-wagen is not the best-looking SUV, nor is it the fastest, but it sure is famous, having become a status symbol far removed from its utilitarian roots. It was thoroughly revamped last year in the first major redesign in more than 40 years. Mercedes offers a ton of custom options from the factory through the G Manufaktur program, including G Manufaktur Olive Metallic for $6500.

Porsche Taycan — Mamba Green Metallic

Porsche's first all-electric vehicle, the Taycan is a blast to drive and looks great either stationary or as it blasts to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds. Porsche's always been good about giving its consumers lots of customization options, and the Taycan is no exception. Mamba Green Metallic costs $800 on a 4S, but Porsche figures Turbo and Turbo S buyers are already paying enough, so it's a no-cost option on those trim levels to paint a 4S in Mamba, but it's a no-charge option on the Turbo and Turbo S trims. If you really want a Porsche painted in Mamba Green Metallic but can't swing the $105,150 for a Taycan, you can also order this shade on a Panamera or Macan.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS — Lizard Green

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is an all-out, unforgiving assault on your senses. With its 4.0-liter flat-six engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, it'll throw you back into your bucket seat as it rockets to 60 mph from a standstill in a blistering 2.9 seconds. It's also got plenty of track-ready aero tacked on in the name of braking later, cornering harder, and accelerating earlier. It's loud enough to make a deaf man hear, as it registers 102 decibels at wide-open throttle. Paint it in Lizard Green, only available on the GT3 RS, and it'll make a blind man see, too.

Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro — Army Green

Did a Car and Driver staff member threaten to quit if the Toyota Tacoma in Army Green was left off the list? Why yes, he did. Thankfully, he won't have to turn in a letter of resignation because he's not the only one who feels that way. Army Green is a no-cost option new to the lineup for 2020 and exclusive to the TRD Pro trim. Starting at $45,055, the TRD Pro backs up the ready-to-deploy looks with tons of off-road goodies that will help you tackle the trail ahead. And for the varying needs of your platoon, Army Green is also available on the Sequoia, Tundra, and 4Runner.

Ford Mustang Bullitt — Dark Highland Green

Sure, you can order a Ford Mustang Bullitt in black, but if you don't order it in Dark Highland Green, it's not a real Bullitt. The paint isn't the only thing we love about our long-term Bullitt. We're enamored with its cue-ball shifter and the six-speed manual it rows, the 5.0-liter V-8, and the taut handling coupled with a grand-touring ride. This isn't your run-of-the-mill Coyote engine. It's been upgraded from 460 to 480 horsepower thanks to new internals that have been carried over from the GT350's flat-plane-crank Voodoo engine. But there's as much magic in the Dark Highland Green paint as there is in the Voodoo engine.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ — Verde Alceo

With its screaming, naturally aspirated V-12 and long, low, mean look, a Lamborghini Aventador will turn heads no matter what color it is. And any Aventador is stupid fast, but the SVJ holds the production-car lap record on the Nürburgring. That is some serious street cred. You can paint an Aventador SVJ a few different shades of green, but our favorite is called Verde Alceo. It's a lime green that makes the car even more of a head turner than it already was. Nobody needs a Kermit the Frog–colored weapons-grade Lamborghini, but everyone sure wants one.

Jaguar F-Type — British Racing Green

We couldn't make a list like this without the original green car color: British Racing Green. Jaguar and Land Rover offer this shade on a variety of models, but we think that it works best on the car that most closely adheres to Jaguar's racing heritage, the F-type. Almost every car manufacturer from Great Britain has a variation of British Racing Green in their color palette, like Aston Martin's Pentland Green and Bentley's Verdant. Other automakers have picked up the color as well, like Ferrari, which offers Verde British on some of its models. On the F-type, metallic BRG costs $710. JLR also offers a matte variant of British Racing Green on certain models.

Dodge Challenger — F8 Green

The Dodge Challenger has a no-cost paint option for 2020 called F8 Green. It isn't bright or eye-catching like some of the other colors that can be had on Dodge's muscle car, but it sure looks good. The flat-green paint job can't hide the Challenger's performance potential, though. On the Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye trim levels, the double hood scoops are just as prominent. If you opt for the Widebody package, there's no hiding the bulging fender flares that give this car an even meaner look. If something with four doors or a hatch is more your speed, you can get this color on a Dodge Charger and Durango as well.
