Pinky Patel to fill Davidson Theatre with laughter

PTA mom-turned-comedian and social-media sensation Pinky Patel is to stop her "New Crown: Who Dhis Tour" at the Davidson Theatre in the Riffe Center Theatre Complex, 77 S. High St., at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Patel began creating content a few months into the pandemic quarantine, recording viral videos in her "glam cave" that have amassed more than 95 million likes on TikTok. Her hilarious commentary, which she describes as "tiny-brady-relatable humor, aided by the use of a sarcastic and jaded outlook on life," has earned Patel a fan base of more than 5 million followers.

CCT to stage 'Hunchback' at the Lincoln

Witness the captivating tale of love, courage, acceptance and the triumph of the human spirit when Columbus Children's Theatre's (CCT) production of Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" opens at 7 p.m. Friday at the Lincoln Theatre, 769 E. Long St.

Based on Victor Hugo's 1831 novel by the same name, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" is CCT's season finale and is to feature a cast of 25, a choir of 12 and an orchestra of 14 professional musicians.

Performances are to continue at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays through May 5. Tickets cost $19-$50, plus fees. (columbuschildrenstheatre.org)

Morgan Wade to bring folksy country to Mershon

Rising country star Morgan Wade is to be "Crossing State Lines" (the name of her tour) for a show at 8 p.m. Friday at Mershon Auditorium, 1871 N. High St.

With a voice that has been described like "worn leather" and as "a hardened Sheryl Crow," Wade released her first album in 2021. "Reckless" reached No. 14 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and No. 8 on the folk albums chart and contained the Top 40 single "Wilder Days."

The album also topped Rolling Stone's Best Country and Americana Albums of 2021 list. Wade's sophomore album, "Psychopath," released last year, spawned a single by the same title. Tickets are $32.50. (ticketmaster.com)

Monster Jam to tear up dirt at the Schott

Monster truck fans will be on the edges of their seats as some of the world's best drivers show off their insane skills in a head-to-head battle for the championship at Monster Jam, which takes place at 7 p.m. Friday, 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at the Schottenstein Center, West Lane Avenue and Olentangy River Road.

In addition to watching 12,000-pound steel-on-wheels beasts, fans can get a Pit Pass to attend a Monster Jam Pit Party from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday to see the trucks up close, meet their favorite drivers, get autographs and take pictures.

Stockhands to honor heroes at formal ball

Stockhands Horses for Healing is to host a heroes' ball, an evening of gratitude to veterans, active-duty military personnel and first responders at 5 p.m. Saturday at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, 300 W. Broad St.

The formal affair includes a cocktail hour from 5-6 p.m., plated dinner, music, dancing and a special tribute to the heroes. The event raises awareness and funding for Stockhands, a nonprofit organization serving veterans, first responders, children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities, as well as those struggling with mental health and recovery around central Ohio. Chamber Music Columbus to present Chanticleer

Named for the clear-singing rooster in Geoffrey Chaucer's "The Canterbury Tales," vocal ensemble Chanticleer is known globally for its vast repertoire and "orchestra of voices" sound. Presented by Chamber Music Columbus, the Grammy-winning chorus from San Francisco is to treat the audience to a medley of classical, gospel, jazz and popular music at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Southern Theatre, 21 E. Main St.

If you're into nonmainstream comics, then you won't want to miss the Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo (SPACE), which is set from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ohio Expo Center, 717 E. 17th Ave.

Delaware choirs to partner up for concert

“Harmonies from Broadway to the Heartland,” the Delaware Community Chorus' spring performance at 3 p.m. Sunday at Powell United Methodist Church, 825 Olentangy St., is to feature Broadway favorites and tunes from the American music canon, plus a performance from the Delaware Youth Chorale.

The chorus offers Hancock’s “Deep River” and a choral suite of Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story.” Accompanist Nathan Hamm is to debut his piece “My Cape of Good Hope,” sung by chorus.

An eclectic mix of pop and folk, including Stephen Sondheim and Bob Dylan, plus classical music, nursery rhymes and even a song from the "Barbie" movie, is what's in store at "Kids... Songs for and About Children," the next concert by Columbus Women's Chorus.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the ensemble is to perform at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Road.
