1 killed, 5 injured in Chicago restaurant shooting

One person was killed and five others were injured Sunday in a shooting outside a Chicago restaurant.

The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. at Lumes Pancake House on the city’s south side.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and the five other victims were transported to nearby hospitals.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the man who was killed was eating under a tent in the restaurant’s parking lot when he was targeted by a shooter in a white SUV who drove up and started shooting.

Three of the wounded victims were described as being in critical condition, one was in fair-to-serious condition and one was in good condition.

All of the victims were adults, the Chicago Fire Department said.

Police did not release details on the circumstances that led to the shooting or any information about suspects.
