Costco’s rotisserie chicken is a classic and convenient staple. It’s juicy and tender, well-sized for serving families and meal-prepping, and affordable, costing just $4.99. Part of the reason why the chicken tastes so good is thanks to brining, which gives it a more pronounced salty, delicious flavor.

While there are many different and creative ways to enjoy a rotisserie chicken, it’s impossible to have too many choices and interesting, new ideas to try and to upgrade a meal. Lucky for us, since Costco’s chicken is so popular, there are tons of tips online from customers eager to share their latest inventions with the world.

And, if you like to crank the heat, here’s a recent video on TikTok from user @flybyjing that calls for one ingredient—a jar of Fly By Jing’s Sichuan Chili Crisp—for a spicy addition that’ll give the bird a real kick.

Costco Rotisserie Chicken Sichuan Chili Crisp Hack

In the video, the creator purchases a jumbo-sized jar of Sichuan Chili Crisp and a rotisserie chicken, both at Costco, then heads to the food court to dig in. The user claims “A jar of chili crisp shaken and drizzled makes the meal that much better” and proceeds to break chunks off the chicken, bit by bit, to dunk right in the jar of chili oil.

“This hack has seriously changed my life,” the creator states, and despite eating on a whim and just for one right at the food court, she does mention that a whole chicken and jar from Costco can feed a family of four, with everyone “[walking] away extremely content and satisfied.”

Based on comments, Sichuan Chili Crisp by Fly By Jing isn’t available at all Costco stores just yet, so you may need to grab a jar elsewhere (or purchase online). The chili crisp is currently sold at Costco stores in the Northeast, but hopefully, it’ll be nationwide soon. You can also make your own version at home with a similar chili oil or Wet Wet Sauce recipe. Or use another favorite store-bought brand.

Comments seem to love the idea, too, offering various inquiries and tips. One said, “This would slap with sticky rice,” (and the creator agreed), while another user @Rach suggested going nuts, “[pouring] the whole bottle over the chicken,” as the oil is that good. One user was hesitant for the sake of wasting a jumbo-size jar that’s been contaminated with chicken, but user @Mac daddy was quick to reply, calling the oil “bomb” and easy to finish in days. “[You] will find yourself putting it on everything.”
