1 dead after car flips in early morning crash on Preston Highway

A person is dead after their car flipped during a crash Thursday morning on Preston Highway, Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD Sixth Division officers responded to a call about a collision at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 4300 block of Preston Highway, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

According to a preliminary investigation and witnesses, the person was driving northbound "when for some unknown reason, the driver lost control ... ran up on the curb, and flipped," Mitchell said.

The person, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation by the LMPD Traffic Unit.
