The North Carolina Education Lottery said there is a winner in Thursday’s drawing, giving one lucky ticket holder $1.8 million.

Although the winner has not stepped forward to claim their prize — “the third largest in the history of the game” — they bought the ticket online, lottery officials said.

“The lucky winner purchased the ticket through the lottery’s Online Play program, either on the lottery’s website or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App,” a statement from the NC Education Lottery said.

To win the $1.8 million jackpot, the ticket needed to match the numbers on all five balls.

“The odds of matching numbers on all five Cash 5 balls are 1 in 962,598,” the statement said.

The winner now has 180 days to claim their prize.

Since the jackpot was won on Thursday, Friday’s jackpot now resets to $100,000.
