This $1.7M lakefront SC home has 7 bedrooms and its own heated saltwater pool. Take a look

Among the most expensive houses on the market this week in Columbia is a brick two story on Lake Katherine with a listing price of $1.7 million.

The 7.276 square-foot house at 1311 Milford Road has seven bedrooms, seven and a half baths and sits on a 0.42-acre lot east of downtown Columbia. The sale of the 59-year-old house is pending, according to real estate websites. It had been on the market about two months.

A heated saltwater pool is located in the back yard between the house and the lake. Most of the rooms have a lake view, including the family room and kitchen.

The property has 100 feet of lake frontage with a covered dock and boat lift as well as a separate garage for boat storage.

The eat-in kitchen has an island and countertops and backsplash in granite.

A bedroom located on the main level has a full bath as do four bedrooms on the second level, all with walk-in closets.

The primary bedroom has a fireplace, garden tub, separate shower, walk in closet, whirlpool, and hardwood floors.

Another room could be converted to an office, nursery or playroom.

There is a washer dryer on the main and lower levels.

The oversized garage accommodates four cars.

There is an indoor kitchen downstairs just inside from the pool with a Viking gas grill along with a fireplace facing the pool. Two rooms are on the lower level with built in bookcases and one has a fireplace. There is a full bath on that level as well.

According to the listing, the house has a severe risk of flooding and high winds. In October 2015, 2 feet of rain fell on parts of the Midlands, flooding homes, including the Lake Katherine neighborhood where the dam was overrun but held. The lake was built by U.S. Army in the 1940s to provide water for Fort Jackson.

The neighborhood has thrived in the aftermath as homes have been rebuilt.
