We don't mean to confuse you, considering we did just report on the rampant popularity of the plunging neckline this summer, but we really feel the need to tell you about something else (something a little more modest, in fact) we've been noticing recently. Long sleeves and high necklines (yep, you read that correctly) are having a major moment right now. Even in the blazing heat of summer, celebrities like Alessandra Ambrosio and even Kim Kardashian (when she's not dabbling in a low-cut neckline) are jumping on board with the modest look.

While a long-sleeved, high-neck dress is something we'd more expect from the likes of Allison Williams, even the edgier celebrities are jumping on board. Keira Knightley has been pretty much long-sleeves or bust on her Begin Again press tour (she's favoring Valentino), and newcomer Nicola Peltz just rocked the red carpet in Berlin in a floor-length, crew neck, long sleeve Stella Mccartney design.

We recommend pairing one of these more conservative tops with a shorter hemline (or even going 3/4 sleeves, like Holland Roden at a recent appearance) during the hot summer. Cropped tops are a good option too. Come winter, we're expecting this trend to hit full throttle, with monochromatic, high-neck, long-sleeved looks pretty much everywhere.
