It feels like we've been getting this question a lot lately: So I bought a sequin [[fill in the blank]], now how do I wear it without looking like I'm 15? And believe us, we've been there. The holiday season comes around and suddenly you HAVE to have that sequin skirt, or that sparkly top - but how do you wear it outside of literal holiday parties?

Well, you're in luck, because a little bit of sparkle is a big trend this winter: and not just during the holidays. From preppy designers like J.Crew to the edgier Rag & Bone, sequins were all over the runways for Fall 2014. And we've seen countless celebrities and bloggers wearing sequins as well -- but they're all doing it in small doses. That's the key, you see, wearing just a pop of sparkle. When it's your skirt, go for a chunky, oversized sweater to balance it out, or grab a sparkly clutch to accent your LBD.

Everything is best in moderation, right? Click through the gallery above for some inspiration for how to wear sequins, the grown-up edition!
