A Look Back at Fall's Style Hits and Misses

Jennifer Lawrence: Dark Horse

What stands out most about Jennifer Lawrence's look? Her hot-pink clutch! We only wish the star's sleek pantsuit (which she wore at the Silver Linings Playbook premiere in N.Y.C. on Nov. 11) had a similar burst of color. From scarf to strappy heels, this gloomy all-black ensemble is making us a little depressed.

Selena Gomez: Lacy Look

She sure doesn't look heartbroken! Selena Gomez (who recently split with BF Justin Bieber) looks sunny and sophisticated in a white peplum dress at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in N.Y.C. on Nov. 12. The deep V on Selena's lace bodice is pretty daring -- but does she pull it off?

Jessica Alba: Thinking Pink

There's no question that Jessica Alba is gorgeous in this gown -- but it looks made for a tea party! The star's soft pink floor-length dress (which she wore at an event in Culver City, Calif. on Nov. 3) is definitely pretty, but the floral embellishments and bow at the waist seem childish. Is Alba's choice impeccable or immature?

Kim Kardashian: Mullet Over

Business in the front, party in the back! Kim Kardashian takes that to heart at the MTV EMAs in Frankfurt, Germany on Nov. 11, where she shows off a feathery mullet dress. It's certainly a bold fashion move for the reality star, but we're not sure this detailed, chaotic dress is the right choice.

Marion Cotillard: Make It Rain

Is Marion Cotillard expecting some rain? The Rust and Bone actress steps out at a screening of the film in N.Y.C. on Nov. 8 wearing what looks like a massive, waterproof poncho. While the dress underneath looks form-fitting and chic, we can't get past that freaky first layer.

Khloe Kardashian: Love for Leather

Khloe Kardashian Odom has proven her hosting chops on The X Factor this season. But her onstage style? Not as much. We love the bright color of Khloe's leather mini (which she wore on the Nov. 1 episode), but the silhouette and material are just a bit unflattering for her famous curves.

Rita Ora: Ravishing Red

Could Rita Ora be the next Gaga? It certainly seems like it! The British songstress arrives at the MTV EMAs on Nov. 11 wearing a head-turning embellished red gown. The giant skirt on Rita's dress is a little overwhelming, but we're kind of feeling the star's zany style. What do you think of her fashion choice?

Lena Dunham: Drab Dress

Lena Dunham has never claimed to be super feminine in front of the cameras, but this navy frock (which she wore at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in N.Y.C. on Nov. 12) is just a little too casual. We totally envy the Girls star's gold pumps, but her long-sleeved dress is baggy and dull.

Taylor Swift: Plain Plaid

Her new album Red is topping the charts, but we can't say the same for Taylor Swift's fashion. While her style is definitely evolving (we still love those blunt bangs!), the singer's plain red sweater and conservative plaid skirt -- which she wore at an event in N.Y.C. on Oct. 24 -- are just too old-fashioned. Might it be time for something more youthful?

Kristen Stewart: Checkmate

Kristen Stewart is taking a leap of faith in this edgy checkered outfit, which she wore at the Breaking Dawn -- Part 2 premiere in Tokyo on Oct. 24. We love that K-Stew always keeps us guessing (and we'd kill for those strappy heels!). But this look might work better as a sexy mini dress, rather than shorts.

Julianne Hough: Feeling Blue

In this shade of blue, Julianne Hough is red-carpet royalty! Our only wish? Skip the midriff! Hough's eye-catching gown (which she wore at an event in Beverly Hills on Oct. 25) is gorgeous, but not as a two-piece ensemble. In this case, a few extra inches of material would go a long way.

Vanessa Hudgens: Skin-Baring Style

Vanessa Hudgens likes to show some skin on the red carpet, and this look -- which she wore at the Carrie Diaries premiere in N.Y.C. on Oct. 22 -- is no different! But instead of envying Hudgens' flat stomach, we're distracted by the dress' awkward shape and seriously long sleeves. Do you think her ensemble is sexy -- or scary?

Tyra Banks: Earn Your Stripes

Tyra Banks has mentored dozens of aspiring superstars on America's Next Top Model, but this might be a losing look! The TV personality shows off her curves in a dizzying striped dress at the Flawsome Ball in N.Y.C. on Oct. 18. We're in love with with the bold pattern, but it's those giant ruffles on Tyra's train that are really giving us a headache.

Cameron Diaz: Mellow Yellow

Bright, bold color? Check. Cute shoes? Check. Bold accessories? Check. Cameron Diaz has all the proper components, but this yellow frock (which she wore at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in L.A. on Oct. 27) misses the mark. With its giant bell sleeves and overall bagginess, Diaz looks like she'd fit right in with The Brady Bunch.

January Jones: Pantsuit Problems

We love January Jones on Mad Men, but that doesn't mean her whole wardrobe needs to be old-fashioned! This blue patterned pantsuit (which she wore at an event in L.A. on Oct. 25) fits the star well enough, but it takes away from Jones' youthful beauty. And what's with that blinged-out belt?

Blake Lively: Silver Lining

Blake Lively can pull off virtually any look. So why does this one have us second-guessing the star's sexy style? While the actress looks stunning in this silver dress (which she wore at an event in N.Y.C. on Oct. 9), the color and silhouette are just a bit uninspired. Is Lively's look a hit -- or humdrum?

Khloe Kardashian: Killer Curves

Khloe Kardashian is on a roll this week! The reality star, who was just named a cohost of The X Factor, rocks a lacy strapless mini during a photo shoot in Miami Beach on Oct. 10. The youngest Kardashian sister definitely looks sexy, but we're not quite sure this look is daytime appropriate -- even when paired with flat sandals.

Emma Stone: Pretty in Pink?

Fashionista Emma Stone is radiant in pink at the Elle Women in Hollywood event in Beverly Hills on Oct. 15, and we love those houndstooth pumps! But we're not totally sold on the high collar and the ill-fitting sleeves on her bubblegum dress.

Lea Michele: See-Through Style

Lea Michele's body is looking hotter by the day -- but we're not sure this is the best way to show it off! The Glee star shows some skin in a sheer black gown at the Elle Women in Hollywood event in Beverly Hills on Oct. 15. Her skimpy bodice is seriously sexy underneath, but is it too much for the classy event?

Vanessa Hudgens: Sharp-Dressed Woman

Just in time for Halloween, Vanessa Hudgens' style is a little scary! On their own, the singer-actress' black blazer, high-necked blouse and skinny jeans would be totally chic. But paired with peep-toe pumps and a sky-high bun, this outfit (which she wore at the Seven Psychopaths premiere afterparty in N.Y.C. on Oct. 10) is a bit too severe.

Eva Longoria: Tattered Taste

It's not the puffy material of Eva Longoria's dress that has us giving it a thumbs-down -- it's those frayed sleeves! Although the actress still looks glamorous at an event in N.Y.C. on Oct. 13, this somewhat sloppy selection may have missed the mark.

Dianna Agron: Baby Blue

For such a bright outfit, it looks like Dianna Agron got dressed in the dark! While we love that the actress is keeping it colorful this fall, her boyish blue frock (which she wore at Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 3) doesn't do anything for her petite frame. Paired with suede platforms and purple tights, this look is 50 shades of confusing.

Emma Watson: Black Beauty

Being one of Hollywood's A-listers certainly has its Perks -- but we still can't let Emma Watson off the hook for this wacky look. Individually, her black strapless frock and skinny pants (which she wore at a screening of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in London on Sept. 26) are simple and chic. But together, there's just too much going on at once. We love her adorable key necklace, though!

Kristen Stewart: Hot Pants

Kristen Stewart arrives at Paris Fashion Week on Sept. 27 rocking a grumpy expression and some attention-grabbing pants. The floral print definitely makes a statement, but paired with pointy ankle boots and a yellow leather jacket, Stewart's style is just too confusing.

Kim Kardashian: That's a Wrap

Kim Kardashian's velvet dress has us seeing green -- but not with envy! The reality star certainly looks radiant in this emerald hue, but the silhouette of her knee-length wrap dress (which she wore at an event in Santa Monica on Sept. 25) hugs her curves in an unflattering way.

Olivia Wilde: Costume Party

Olivia Wilde's daring look is a cross between a superhero cape and a bedtime robe -- neither of which is suitable for the red carpet!  The actress debuts a sheer emerald green dress at the premiere of Butter in N.Y.C. on Sept. 27, paired with strappy high heels. Of course, she still looks gorgeous -- but is this a fashion don't?

Leslie Mann: Leafy Look

Leslie Mann might crack us up on the silver screen -- but there's nothing light-hearted about this look, which she wore at an event in Beverly Hills on Sept. 27. Between the high collar, thick fabric and chunky heels, it seems like Mann's style is weighing her down!
