Kylie Minogue is one of Australia's biggest music sensations, but she's beloved all over the world. Many in the UK think of her as an "adopted Brit," and she has won countless awards for her music. She's often been compared to Madonna (who she says is one of her inspirations) -- but as Madonna is the "Queen of Pop," Kylie is known as the "Princess of Pop."

It all started in the 1980s when she released the smash hit "The Loco-Motion," and her career hasn't stopped since. With songs like "Confide in Me," "Spinning Around" and "Can't Get You Outta My Head," she topped charts in Australia, the UK and the United States.

Kylie began her career as the "girl next door," but she quickly decided she wanted to have a more mature image. Taking more control over her songs and the way she was portrayed to the world, she empowered herself. Always someone who fought for important causes, Kylie became an advocate for cancer research and awareness as she battled breast cancer in 2005. She was diagnosed while on tour, and was forced to cancel the remainder of the performances to receive treatment.

After fighting for her life, Kylie came out on top. She is an inspiration to women all over the world, not just for her career but for her strength. Through the ups and downs that life has thrown her way, the star has stayed positive and been wildly successful. She is currently working on her twelfth studio album, having just signed a new record deal in 2013.

Kylie turns 45 today, May 28th, 2013. Take a walk down memory lane with this star, and click through to see her style transformation!
