Update 12/5: More details have just been released for William and Kate's trip to New York next week, including the fact that when William is in DC on Monday, he will visit the White House and meet with President Obama. See below for more information from the latest press release!

Kensington Palace confirmed the morning of November 14 that Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, will indeed visit New York City on Sunday December 7th, staying through Tuesday the 9th. The schedule of engagements - which is pretty heavy! - will also see William traveling to Washington, D.C. for a day while pregnant Kate stays in New York.

Their initial itinerary was decidedly vague, which makes us wonder what exactly does the British Royal Family think of us New Yorkers? Yes, there are quite a few crazies that call this city home... but we wouldn't have it any other way. <3 See the full itinerary below and get excited!

Sunday December 7th
  • Arrive in New York
  • Attend a private engagement Sunday evening with the American Friends of The Royal Foundation
Monday December 8th
  • William
    • Travel to Washington, D.C.
    • Attend an anti-corruption conference at the World Bank to discuss a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to the transportation across borders of illegal wildlife.
    • Attend a working lunch at the World Bank to discuss a number of programs in support of the fight against the illegal trade in ivory.
    • Meet with President Obama at the White House, then separately with VP Joe Biden
    • Travel back to New York City
    • Accompanied by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, William will attend a reception at the British Consul General's Residence in NYC that will recognize the work done by The Tusk Trust and other United for Wildlife (of which William is President) partners.
  • Kate
    • Accompanied by the First Lady of New York City, Chirlane McCray, Kate will visit the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem. They will learn about how this organization fosters the healthy development of children and families by providing high-quality mental health and educational services.
    • Attend a lunch, hosted by the British Consul General in New York, to celebrate the achievements of a successful British community in New York.
  • Together
    • Attend an NBA Basketball game (!!) to help launch a new collaboration between The Royal Foundation, United for Wildlife and the NBA. It'll be the Nets vs. Cavaliers game in Brooklyn.
Tuesday December 9th
  • Visit the National September 11 Memorial Museum, touring the museum and viewing the Memorial Reflection Pools.
  • Visit The Door in NYC and the CityKids Foundation, to learn about how these two organizations work together to promote positive youth development and social learning. Will likely touch on how art is involved, as Kate is a large supporter of how art can change young lives.
  • Attend the Creativity is GREAT Reception at NeueHouse celebrating the British talent in the creative industries of New York, in association with the UK Government's GREAT campaign.
  • William will attend the Innovation is GREAT Reception hosted by Shutterstock at the Empire State Building, accompanied by the Mayor of New York to celebrate US and UK entrepreneurs.
  • Finally, that evening William and Kate will attend the University of St. Andrews 600th Anniversary Dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
It has also been noted that William and Kate will at some point visit the National September 11th Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center to pay tribute to those lost, though the date of the visit has not been disclosed. William and Kate will visit the museum Tuesday morning.

We. Are. So. Excited. Welcome to the Big Apple, Kate and Wills! It doesn't seem as though Prince George will be joining his parents, but that's okay. It'll be a whirlwind of a trip and the royal couple is going to be extremely busy while they're here. We're hoping Kate wears lots of American designers while she's in the States, but she is sure to turn to her old favorites as well.

Click through the gallery above to see Kate's wardrobe from their last (MUCH longer) overseas visit - the royal tour of Australia and New Zealand!
