Flashback: Ralph Lauren's 5 Best Runway Moments in the Past 5 Years

Spring 2008: The Grand Anniversary

For his 40th anniversary, the designer combined his fashion show with a dinner party for 400. VIP attendees included Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert De Niro with fellow legendary designers Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan and Diane Von Furstenberg. The show closed with Ralph strolling out on the runway to Frank Sinatra's "The Best Is Yet to Come."

Spring 2010: Newsgirls

The recession put a cloud over many designer's collections, making a splashy show seem insensitive. Ralph catered to the disheartening times with an ode to American resilience. "Working clothes" like worn-in overalls and navy blazers topped off by newsboy caps took to the runway.

Spring 2009: Indiana Jones

That's right, you're seeing gold sequined harem pants on a Ralph Lauren runway. The designer took his show to North Africa with adventure-seeking safari ensembles in luxurious fabrics with turbans and walker hats accessorizing the models' heads.
