Bobbi Brown's 7 tips for looking gorgeous in glasses

"Wearing glasses draws plenty of attention to your eyes, so it’s best to keep your eye makeup simple. Line just the top lash line, dust a neutral ashy shadow on the lower lid, and brush a thin coat of mascara on top lashes only. Save the bright and bold colors for your lips."

"Eyeglass frames draw attention to the brows, so be sure to keep your arches well groomed. Pluck or trim any scraggly hairs, and fill in holes or sparse spots with a brow pencil or powder shadow."

"Adjusting liner thickness is important when you’re wearing glasses – if your frames are thicker, you’ll want to apply a thicker line to the upper lash so that eyes stand out. If your frames are thinner, a softer liner works great. It’s important to make sure that there is a balance between the definition of your frames and your eyes."

"Be sure to line your eyes across the top and bottom lash lines. Make sure that the line on the top lash extends across the entire eye, thinner on the inner corner and thicker on the outer corner. I recommend using a liner that is darker than your natural eye color, since it creates a perfect contrast that vividly defines the eyes. Two coats of black mascara on the top lash only also helps open up the eyes for a wide-awake, refreshed look. And of course, don’t forget under eye corrector and concealer -- a must for all women, but especially if you’re wearing glasses."

"Use a light hand when applying your eye makeup, and be sure to blend everything carefully. The last thing you want your glasses to do is to magnify any mistakes. For shadows, go with light, neutral shades. Eye liner should be delicate and thin, with only one coat of mascara to open up the eyes. The goal is to keep the eye area soft and natural."

"I know that glasses are expensive, but I think it’s ideal to have a couple of different styles on hand. Personally, I prefer strong chunky frames in neutral colors like tortoise or black, but it’s also useful to have a more delicate set of wire frames in silver or black. Having options will afford you more versatility in your outfits and general look."
