UNESCO Year of Biodiversity

Description:2010 has been named International Year of Biodiversity by the United Nations. The aim is to increase awareness of biodiversity and the effect its loss has on natural ecosystems. Some things that affect biodiversity are population increase, over-consumption of resources and “galloping urbanization”, increasing pollution and threatening many species of wild and marine life.
