River Plate Beat Lanus 1-0 in Argentine Championship

Description:Lanus lost 1-0 away to River Plate on Sunday (December 2) which ended their chances of winning Argentina's "Inicial" championship. Velez Sarsfield claimed the title by beating Union 2-0 to move on to 38 points, five clear of second-placed Lanus with a match to spare. Lanus' hopes of taking it to the final game of the Inicial championship were ended in the 77th minute when Rodrigo Mora headed home from a Leonardo Ponzio free kick. (1:55)
