Report: Robert Downey Jr. Lost "Oz" Role Over Plant

Description:According to the Hollywood Reporter, James Franco was not the first choice to star in "Oz The Great and Powerful." Robert Downey Jr. was director Sam Raimi's first choice. The magazine says the director even tried to butter up Downey by giving him a house plant. But after Raimi visited Downey's house and saw the plant dead in the corner, he went after Franco.
